Why I Started Somnora

From Emma, Founder & Chartered Physiotherapist

For most of my life, I lived with undiagnosed sleep apnea. Long before I even knew the name, I’d wake up stiff, foggy, and unrested, even after eight hours in bed.

Starting CPAP therapy helped me breathe better, but I still wasn’t waking up refreshed. That’s when I realised the problem wasn’t just oxygen. It was alignment.

As a physiotherapist, I’ve seen how poor neck support affects the spine, posture, and nervous system. I couldn’t find a single pillow that addressed this properly — not for me, and not for my patients either.

So I partnered with engineers and product designers to build what was missing: a pillow that follows the natural curve of the neck, holds its structure all night, and helps the body relax instead of compensate.

That’s how Somnora began. Not from a business plan, but from the need to fix something that should have been solved a long time ago.

Restorative sleep should be a baseline, not a luxury.

Every product we make is based on real science and real results. Orthopaedics, sleep research, and practical design. No marketing fluff.

Because when your sleep improves, so does everything else.
